Detention

As a kid I think everyone at some point stayed after school for detention. I do not remember anybody who liked it.

In the trucking industry detention happens when it takes over two hours to load or unload the truck so they can be underway in a reasonable amount of time. If the wheels are not turning, you are not earning. The E.L.D. has made this problem a much bigger thorn in the side of your average trucker than ever

When dealing with a truck it usually goes one of two ways: 1 they are already asking for more money before they are even loaded completely 2 They don’t set a number they just say,” What do you think we should ask for?” My response to either is always, we will wait until its done before we discuss what we will pay for detaining the truck.

Some people are reasonable, and others are not when it comes to this, that is why you hire a broker to handle your shipping. Ultimately, I am fair to all parties involved.
