The trailer in the photo is an all-aluminum variety that makes it lighter than others made of steel and wood. Ultimately, they can carry more weight making them a desirable choice for many business owners. The difference between the two is around three thousand pounds on average, between various manufacturers. That weight can be the difference between adding another truck to a load doubling cost. As a broker it is a no brainer to use trucks like this to carry the maximum weight.
The biggest problem is sourcing these trucks when you really need one. These people know what they have and are not afraid to ask for more money. As a broker I see the value because most standard truck loads are forty-five thousand pounds. They are carrying forty-eight thousand pounds, and to save the cost of breaking the load in two, it is worth a few dollars more.
