Going out on a run part 11 – The early morning light

Writer's picture: Sean McCoySean McCoy

As a broker when I go out on a run, I always tell my driver that they are the captain of the ship, and Ricardo was no different. I do this because it is not my place to tell them how to do their job. So, whatever they want to do is fine by me. I am just happy to go along for the ride.

The night before I had asked Ricardo when He wanted to see me the following day. He said he would call me to wake me up with a little time to get ready to go.

The call came not too early as the Sun was already up when I asked Ricardo to come by the hotel and have some of the breakfast they serve. It was not long before we walked to the truck stop and grabbed two large black coffee’s, the way most truckers drink their brew.

When I got to the truck, I could not believe how clean it was. Much to my surprise while I slept Ricardo washed the truck before he went to sleep the night before! This guy takes excellent care of his equipment.

Thank you again Ricardo for all you did to make this run happen.
