Going out on a run part nineteen – The End - Going home to Nebraska

Writer's picture: Sean McCoySean McCoy

Business had been so good, that I lost track of time trying to get it done, I threw my bags together and got in the Mustang GT. I pushed the start button and brought the car to life. Then I headed down Ventura Boulevard in some American muscle. Driving the GT was great fun, but I did not get to play with the car much, except, a little romp here and there.

People who have never been to Los Angeles California have heard of the 405, it is legendary for being congested. Well, between being a shade late and traffic I missed that first flight. So, I turned around and went back to the Hotel for 2 more days, before I could leave again.

The second time I tried to leave, I was on the 405 and on time to the airport when, a phone call came from a client wanting five trucks, immediately. I said ok and missed that fight too.

By this time, I had stayed longer than expected and travel expenses were piling up, I needed to get home. I gave in and stayed right next to the airport in a really nice hotel. It was not the Sportsman’s lodge, but that bill was big enough.

Luckily for me the third time was the charm, and I landed in Omaha the following day.
