Going out on a run Part seventeen – Laundry day

Writer's picture: Sean McCoySean McCoy

I had planned on being on the road for a few days but, business needs had taken over as it had so often while working for this client.

I put a few items in a laundry bag and proceeded to the front desk at about eight o’clock. The lobby was full of important looking people dressed to the nines. Who were they?

I asked the desk clerk, “Are we having a party at the hotel tonight?” The desk clerk replies in a monotone voice, “We are having a Hollywood soiree and we don’t have any details.” I really have no clue who was there but there was a lot of security outside the hotel.

While staying at the Sportsman’s Lodge, I am sure there were people there that were famous, I just did not know who these people were. At the time I was still smoking so, going to the parking lot to hang out for a few minutes was better than the $250 fine for smoking on the balcony. It was there I chatted with several folks working behind the scenes in the entertainment industry.
