It is not every day that I get to see my friend, who took me to California twice with an oversize load.
Ricardo had called a couple of days ago, to tell me he would be passing through the area and wanted to see me while he was here. I get the phone call Ricky says, “I am in town waiting to get loaded, would you like to get some lunch?” I said, “of course, and I will buy. Where are you at?”
I got an address, and it was easy to find the truck. When I arrived, Ricky was fixing a marker light that was out. Ricardo got in my little Mazda Tribute and we were off to sight see and find some food nearby. I truly wish I had more time with Ricky. I would like to take him to my hometown, but it was too far for the time we had.
We get to the restaurant and I needed to get a sandwich for the wife who was a few blocks away at work. I was expecting to pay for all the food, but Ricardo beat me to it. What a good guy, maybe next time he comes to town, we will not be so pressed for time, and I can at least offer him dinner at my home.
