Tereza and I had left the airport in our newly rented red corvette and were going to the hotel when Tereza said to me “I did not get any dinner and I need something to eat”. I look at the time not much is open after midnight and we needed to get checked into the hotel.
After a brief stop at the hotel, we were off to find a little late-night snack. Tereza found a McDonalds a few miles away and that sounded good to us.
We arrived and it must have been the slowest McDonalds in Florida. While waiting for our food in line the tire pressure sensor starts to drop in not one, but two tires on the back of the car. As the gauge dropped below ten pounds it became very apparent it was not a humidity problem, as the desk clerk had told us. We crawled out of McDonalds looking for some air at a gas station nearby.
Luckily, Tereza and I came across a 7-11 with an air pump we could see from the street. I pulled into the lot and backed up to the pay by credit card air compressor. The first time I tried to use the compressor it took the transaction but did not start the pump. The second time it worked. I let the car idle as I put air in the tires. The passenger side tire took air like it should and I thought I might just be out of the woods with this car trouble.
