The great Corvette debacle of 2020 - part seven

Writer's picture: Sean McCoySean McCoy

Tereza had beat me back to the hotel by an hour or two, I walked in at about 6am.

We had planned on going to Universal while we were in Orlando, a day before I needed to be there for my conference. I got up much earlier than I would have liked, but we needed to check out of this hotel before we went on to the JW Marriot where the conference was at. Plus, I was short one corvette I had pre-paid a lot for.

Tereza and I went to the rental agency to replace the Corvette. As you can imagine I was unhappy about the situation. They gave us another Corvette and told us we would receive a credit for the hassle. I felt a little better about it and we left with a white Corvette.

I did get to do what I wanted to do with the Corvette, and that was be seen in it at the conference. I feel that is showing a little success with style.

Later when the bill arrived If I had not purchased the insurance and told the guy at the desk there was a problem. It would have cost hundreds of dollars in tires and tow fees. The last thing was that they did not refund me a penny of the rental fee. Their excuse? it was prepaid with no refund as sited in the contract.
