The great Corvette debacle of 2020 – part six

Writer's picture: Sean McCoySean McCoy

Jason had been so kind before the uber arrived, I handed him some cash before we left. He did not ask for money. I knew I was doing better than he was, and felt the need to give.

Our uber driver was ok, and we were almost to the hotel when my phone rings. It is the rental agency who asked “did you leave the car in the parking lot? I said, “Yes per your instruction, I left a new corvette with the keys in it at a 7-11 at four in the morning”. There reply was you signed for it.

The driver took Tereza and I to the hotel. I ran inside to use the toilet and grab some water before taking the uber round trip back to the 7-11. When I arrived Jason had left so, I sat in the corvette and waited.

It was about five a.m. when the tow truck had arrived to load the corvette. He was about to leave when he told me I was not allowed to ride in the truck. I was not happy about it. When I reached for my phone to look for another Uber, the driver must have felt bad for me because, he did drop me at the hotel sometime before 6am.

I had prepaid for this Corvette in advance and paid for the absorbent insurance just to be able to walk away from it if I had to.
