The multiple broker complex.

It seems all too often a client feels the need to hire more than one freight broker, to move a load.

This puts a guy like me in an awkward position from time to time, where a client will want me to work for them, but they give the same job to several freight brokers.

I consider this a waste of my time for several reasons. First and foremost, the fact I can work all day and not get paid, is not something I shoot for. Secondly it becomes a numbers game, and the guy who comes in 10 dollars cheaper gets the load. Third, it hurst my reputation as a broker to say, I have a load make a deal, and then back out of it. Fourth The guy driving the truck loses every time, and is usually upset because, he has been taken advantage of in one way or another. This makes for a poor experience with the truck at the pick and drop. Fifth having more loads on the load board will drive rates up artificially because as a broker we compete for trucks on the open market.

What you need to know is one good broker, with a name, and reputation, will bring you all the trucks you ever needed. Here is something else all clients need to know and that is, you get what you pay for. If you pay peanuts, expect monkeys, not professionals that get the job done.

Having one experienced broker you trust, is the only way to find the trucks you need.
